I used to be a very hard-core otaku, but Kenshin has always been a favorite of mine. It combines everything I love in anime: action, romance, comedy, drama. Who could ask for anything else? And the historical pull is also strong for me, though I'll admit that's not my favorite era in Japanese history.
You have a lot to do? I'm getting freaking married in three months and don't even have a dress yet.

The subs I had weren't -that- bad, honestly, for the second one. Just not accurate. I downloaded two copies of the second and one had fucked-up subs (the timing wasn't right AT ALL), so I just downloaded new subs. The timing was right. The translator just had no clue what the hell was going on, and clearly didn't understand a word of Japanese. I know at one point, a subtitle said, "It cuts." and the actual dialogue was something to the effect of, "Beautiful, isn't it?" so...

I the one I found was really bad. Luck smiled on you.
I hate when they do that. I was watching the seven deadly sins anime and on one verson he clearly said "it's dangerous" and the translator put "I love you" O.o that's one of the reasons I can't watch anime on Netflix the timing sucks and the words are miss translated.

Context translators are the worst. I probably won't catch all the historical/period references, but I can at least guarantee that my subs'll be 99% correct. Japanese isn't a difficult language to learn, and I'm absolutely baffled by how some of these translators got their jobs. Yikes. Then again, any translation project is going to be tedious if professionally done. Like, say, CardCaptor Sakura. As a dedicated fan, I still weep for "CardCaptors."

I'm starting to think that kanji is sort of like a super power. You either have to be born with it, or something radioactive has to bite you in order for you to get it.

BWAHAHA okay I am now lost lol. I speak several languages but Japanese is FAR beyond me. A friend of mine has been studying it and is pretty good at it but he doesn't have the programs to make subbed videos etc. >.< Unfortunately, because as a fan of The BOSS, most of their things are in Japan and I wish I could understand them! But no one subs them and since he is a fan as well, he sends me written out translations of the videos LOL.
As for dropbox... can I be totally lame... and ask what that is???

And actually yeah... spring/summer is the busiest time on a ranch. >.< We have baby animals up the wazoo and stupid random snow storms and injured horses and broken water pipes and UGH! I want SUMMER. Then at least we just have races!!... and regular work. LOL
