So this past week, I removed 30 of the 48 stories I had available online. I was just doing some spring cleaning, getting ready to head back towards commercial fan fiction and trying to up the general quality of what I have to offer online. However, this morning I received a rather remarkable fan letter that I wanted to share with you.
Honestly, readers like that are the reason I write. I think it's kind of awesome that they took the time to write to me and tell me that and it's definitely making me take another look at my fan fiction.
Hi Zoni,
I found fanfiction online last summer. I will forever be grateful that you were one of the first authors I read. The Dark Path is one of my favorite stories. I read it every few months, I list it as one of my favorite stories on and I refer other authors to it. Then I read Immortal. Ugh! Just thinking of that piece chokes me up. It was the first AU that I ever read and it was also the first time I read a Sebastian and Ciel pairing. Immortal is the measure I use to rate all other Kuroshitsuji fanfiction. I found a reference to Momento Mori on and was heartbroken that you only wrote three chapters. (People still reference your idea about the brand.) I saw your note that you were no longer writing Kuroshitsuji and I began following you on Tumblr to see what you were working on. I read and enjoyed some of you other works. I read your posts about people stealing your work. I am sorry that happened to you. Periodically, I search for your writing in deviantart but it is not user friendly. I finally found a few chapters of Momento Mori completed by another author. I am not sure if I found the whole piece but it did not have your magic. So sad. Your last message that you cleaned house of your Kuro took my breath away. I am still grieving. I had no I idea that you had so many other pieces I never found or read. I am in mourning! I love your writing and respect you as an author so I am trusting there is a reason behind your decision. Please leave The Dark Path up. Please write more and post on fanfiction.
I read your post about how to write reviews for authors. Thank you for your guidelines. I use your recommendations when I write reviews for authors who write quality fiction.
Thank you for sharing your talent with your readers and for the many hours of pleasure reading you have given me.
I will always be on the look out for your work,
Reader
