It's....well I can't say it's easy to do but it's simple for me in a sense that it helps me to think clearer and faster when it comes to the actual construction of scenes, dialogue, paragraphs and the like. I think it was because most topics were more prompts than anything where it centered around a specific scene or set of objects or spoken sentence. All that was left to do was surround it, continue it, or end with it.
And then I'm a semi-perfectionist....and lazy. I ain't about to write nothing twice, like I said.

qimbra, as I said (somewhere lol), that was how I used to write too. Back when I was a kid I would write stories just going with the flow, pencil to paper and writing it as it came to mind. I can remember never finishing any stories, though, and losign my drive for them after a while. Then when I got into journalism, we HAVE to write a first draft of a column and that was where the habit of drafting came from. Outlines and drafting have allowed me to actually finish almost everything I write, now. They're a big help!

it's like guidelines when i draw. i can't stand guidelines to save a life i swear. I just draw and fix what needs to be fixed in the process >.< i understand that they help but being the artistically stubborn mule that i am, well...
